WebComs: Transactions as Object-Flow Networks for the WOS

Data-ow networks-or object ow networks in their more general form-are a suitable coordination language for distributed applications. Their advantages include easy to understand diagrams, natural parallelism and fault tolerance. Object-ow networks are used for coordination at user level in the context of the WOS. In addition, the implementation is based on WOS services and resources. A basic framework based on attribute schemes, attributes, WebComs (Web Components) and channels is introduced. WOS speciic questions such as usage of warehouses , versioning, service and resource lookup will be addressed as well. As this paper reeects the state of an ongoing project, an outlook presents the future directions.
